Do you have a calendar for 2012. If not, this calendar of my paintings is just for you. This painting is the cover for a calendar I created on Zazzle. The art is a series of still lifes. I love the little snow globe in this grouping. Happy Holidays! You can purchase it here on Zazzle.
8x8 inch oil painting on artist made canvas panel. A little girl with a flower at the Botanical Garden. Who was she watching? The little boys splashing in the fountain. I called this fascination. At Auction on eBay
Every year Gamblin has a compeition called Torrit Grey. The company cleans out the filtration system and puts that grey in tubes. The Torrit grey paint is free. Mr Gamblin selects the winners. The artist must paint with black, white and Torrit Grey only. I submitted the first three paintings. I hope I win some paint.
The last morning, my sister and I set out to fish or paint. I painted this painting. Nothing had started to turn. It still looked like summer. It was a beautiful morning. 8x10 oil on canvas panel.
I did this portrait sketch of my mother two day before her 93rd birthday. Happy Birthday MOM. She was drawing the wildflowers on the table. 10x8 canvas on panel
The next day, I did two paintings while my sister fished. First black, white and Torrit Gray painting, then my sister fishing. She didn't catch anything that morning, but I added a fish to the painting.
8x10 canvas on panel
Painting on the evening of 9/11 the sky was a beautiful apricot color. It got deeper and deeper and then it was dark. I didn't like what happened with the colors so I glazed the painting with Old Holland Schevenings Donker Rose a la Maxfield Parish. Loved the result.
8x19 canvas on birch panel.
I like the idea of doing portraits but find them intimidating. I'm starting by doing a few little sketches. This is an art card. Nothing happens until you've done a hundred. So this is No. 1.
These are the plein air paintings from the 4th of July. The 4th was beautiful and I had a great day painting The Creek and Furdek's horses. The last two paintings are from the morning of the 5th. It was so foggy in the Creek.
I love peonies, but they fade so fast. We've had days of rain and all the other blossoms on this plant were smashed in the rain. We'll see how the other plants fare. A recent still life with a fan. 12x9 on a canvas panel from canvaspanels.com. They are so light weight and pleasant to paint on. I need new brushes as these are losing their edge. I like a crisp edge on my brush.
I did a series of paintings of the Stacy Park Carnival. Here is the Spider-man Inflatable ride minder just sitting a watching. The ride is closed in the evening, I believe, as it was dark. Seemed like a lonely job.
This is one of my favorite paintings.
