U City in Bloom ( Univeristy City, MO)

Yesterday I painted at Jerry Birkhead's Garden in University City for the U City in Bloom benefit Garden Tour.  It was a beautiful day, cool, sunny, just wonderful. His Graden is replete with many garden statues, lights, furniture on a cobblestone patio. Here's the putti from a fountain. Another painting from the day will be posted shortly. !6"x12" oil on canvas mounted on wood.

Last Plein Air Class Bowl Lake in Forest Park

Last Plein Air Class in Forest Park.  The weather forecast the night before had called for severe thunderstorms, possible tornadoes.  The day turned out to be warm, sunny with a slight breeze and some clouds.  I did two demonstration watercolors for the intrepid artists who came. Each is 12 x 16 inches on  300 lb paper. They were painted at Bowl Lake in Forest Park.

Maple Island, Missouri Side at Alton IL

Sunday morning I set out to meet up with the Missouri Plein Air guys in Alton. I found a shelter, but it wasn't the right one, as I never saw them. I didn't like the location so I went over to Maple Island and painted there. It was a wet cold day. I think I saw an eagle in the tree. This painting is 8x10 inches. Oil on canvas panel.

Painting at Castlewood State Park

At the end of my session painting at Castlewood, while the other painters were taking a lunch break, I started a small painting of them.  Naturally, I no sooner started than they got up and either left or went back to painting.  This is the small sketch.  Oil on 6x8" on panel.
